Intake and outbound vent question

Thinking about setting up a new room. Question is .. I have sealed air cooled reflectors,
Can I keep one end of my reflector open to use as a intake for dirty air instead of using another inline fan to cool the light?
My vision is this... Keep one flange open and attach the inline fan to the other side of the reflector. This would pull the dirty air through the light exiting the system in to my scrubber etc.. making it so one fan does two jobs. And yes the cfm on the inline fan is large enough to support the flow.
I was just trying to get away with not buying three fans. (One for intake ,one for outbound dirty air and one to cool the light)
What would the problems be with this type of air exchange?... if any
Thank you

I do that.

I just dont have a big enough fan for my air cooled hood. So I still use three fans lol until i can get a better cfm rating on one to use for my hood. Then I would be taking out my exhaust and just having a fan for my hood and a intake.

Not sure If there is a down fall to this yet. I have not had or seen any issues doing this, and it has been working for me.

Hopefully someone has some better input.

for sure you can do it, in fact it will cool your light better then running through a carbon filter first. lowered my temps by 3 degrees.

As long as you dont have light leakage, that is in or out, you can prety much do anything you like as long as it is effective, There is only one way to know and that is to try it. My only advice would be to think if this is the simplest way to do what you want to do. Simpler is always better imo.
