insulated styrofoam

i was at home depot... just tooling around pricing shit for my next grow...
decided to go all organic in soil, and after finding a mother of Hashberry and one of Satori from Mandala, will end up doing a perpetual grow Sea of Green style...

and my flower room is going to be 3x3 and i don't know how tall yet...

but i was wondering, would the styrofoam panels work? its like 8 bucks for a 4x8ft 3/4in thick panel... like three of those and i got plenty to build my walls for it (i'll frame it in like 1x2's, prolly)

i'm wondering if it would be good for reflectivity... i guess thats what i'm actually asking

Reflectivity would be.... mediocer (spelling) to say the least. Mylar is not that epensive. My 150 foot rool was 40 bucks at HTG supply..... As for the foam though. I use the 2" thick stuff at home depot for my insulation... It works great! IDK what kinda you're looking at buy I know that home depot has 4'X8' sheeets that are 2" thick for a $1.58 or something. Thats what mine costed me..... Keep it going dude good luck!

actually i was looking for panda plastic when i saw the styro, and thought, huh, this might work =]

then after not finding the plastic thought it might be an even better option... haha!

it actually works alot better than one would think. i did a cfl grow, five 3' females, 20 cfl's, 2-3 ounces per plant.

thanks kp!!! do you know if its sturdy enough to say, support 2 muffin fans attached to it? or would i need to put some kinda framing in for that?

its pretty sturdy dude. I mean just think of normal stryofoam.... Its very sturdy and rigid. But Cannot really be used structuraly. Dont take this a bad way but just use your head and you will be fine... Like my granddad always told me... If god didnt want you to use your head he would've put feet on both ends!!! lmao

my brother and i built a simple frame from two by fours from lowes. but, it supported a 50cfm fan, a big box fan and held up a 400w hps with no hood....
