Infrared Detection Devices

Hello all,

I was wondering about your thoughts on Heat Seeking Infrared Devices.

What is the deal with those things?

What if I have a 400-watt lamp in a 5 x 5.5 foot space?

Should I just go with CFL's? I'd rather go with HID but...

Dont use hid lamps in a loft space,exploding bulbs can cause fire just for a start.
If your using 1000watts on a second floor under the loft space make sure you use adequate cooling,if your growing on the bottom floor dont even worry about it
