induced flowering, does it work?

I hear u can induce flowering indoors by giving it 36hrs of dark at the beginning of the 12/12 cycle. I hear it makes it show sex faster than normal. Any truth to this?

yea, i did a 24 hour dark period before switching to 12/12. Worked well on all the plants, had males picked within 2 weeks, most after 1 week. I had one other plant that i just threw in to the 12/12 light directly from 24 and it took about a full 2 weeks to show gender. I think it does make the transition faster by having a 24, but 36 sounds like it might just put too much stress on the plant.

Yea,stcik with 24 hours of darkness..what it does it "reset"the internal clock of the plant..thus sending an unmistakable messga to the plant that fall's here,and its time to start flowering...

ya i get that about the internal clock and fall. It's been on 12/12 for 3 days now since the dark period, no signs of stress. Just thought I'd give it a try.

Also,I recommend leaving the plants in darkness the last 24 hours..trust me..it'll increase the resin.

false,that was proven to cause stress by other connoseurs

stick to 12 12 and nothin else,if u have like 10 hids and clones, then do some experimentin,make individual rooms but leave one as a control

So far it hasn't done anything, not that it couldn't. I wanted to try it on the two i got goin now before I get my next goin which'll be autoflowering fems, no 12/12 on those at all, just 20/4. For now i'm toyin with these bagseed plants and seein how they react.
