See? I knew this was coming. This is one of the horrors of legalization that no one thinks about. It is already in CO. They are crafting legislation.

They have their road side tests. Yep. Its here. And it ignores what we all know well.

- you can only get so high. It is not alcohol.
- any test shows usage last month, not usage today
- there is no way to establish a level of impairment

Solution. The Doctor advising the Legislature Committee crafting the law says, "Simple. Zero Tolerance."

They don't know the levels, or the time frames or the imparment, if any.

Simple horror. Keep it medical and under the radar. These same concerns are being surfaced in Washington and Florida.

I will vote against legalization in California this fall. I told you all, there will be backlash. There will be a big self rule fight about this. There will be all manner of ways to harsh our mellow.

Sounds familiar... In Germany amongst others they pick out dutch drivers based on their license plates, assuming we must all be stoned all the time since we have coffeeshops. Since it shows usage during last month indeed, lots of completely sober people are getting fined. It's retarded... if I want to drive to Spain through France I have to stop smoking a month prior.

They would use a mouth swab here people, not make you pee in a cup on the roadside. Oral swabs can only detect usage within the last 24 hours AT BEST!

Swish with mouthwash before leaving the house, have a travel bottle in the cubby.

i believe the limit here is 5 nanograms per milliliter. people who smoke occasionally and haven't smoked that same day have 0 ng/mL. THC doesn't stay in blood very long, maybe 24 hours max.

i think the limit is too low and a better, more accurate limit should be established, but i don't think it should be done away with and i don't think scrapping re-legalization because of it is the answer.

Problem is tests look for thc metabolites that can be present for months after use.

In Germany they test the urine first to determine 'if' (days to weeks after) and if that tests positive they do a blood test to determine how much. Limit is 1.0 nanogram THC per ml "Blut." Fines variate from $1000 to $1400... (includes cost for blood test which insurance doesn't cover) nothing new either, they have been doing that for years, just getting absurd lately.

What's a nanogram in joints? Is one enough. Is three too many?

I bet Germany has never done any impairment testing either. I can drive just fine, <hick> Officer. I only have .90 ngs.

Smoke two joints
Letting the nanny state have pot is reefer madness

You don't have to be stoned to be negligent. There is no evidence at all that being stoned from meds as I am all day, impairs me one bit.
