I don't put a fan on my buds unless I'm having trouble drying so I suggested the same. Experience with different scenarios will teach you a lot more then reading ever-changing techniques in grow forums.

Good to see more folks take the cure more seriously, bout time we all get over the fast cure for profit crap 
if you want to understand the processes takin place read my Calling all Noob growers thread around post # 404 (I believe) multi part dity on oxidation and fermentation explains what is happening in the plant, also covered is drowning your plant at the end to start these processes before you harvest, this results in optimum fermentation and good tasting buds in less than a week
also know that these processes require N to work, best to leave the leaves on and trim the buds before jarring
you might also be interested in the fermentation chamber I designed after doing this research, it is detailed towards the end of my Balls to the wall grow

I start my cure by vasing my cut plants in RO water for the last 24 hour shift and I remove them when the lights come on. I find this improves the taste dramatically. Be sure the plants do not go dry during this process.

just want to ask a question. i have hung my buds for 4 days in a dark place at 72 degrees and humidity at 50%. the buds felt dry so i jarred them up after 12 hours they where at 85% so i let them out the jar for a further 6 hours and so on. i got the humidity in the jar to 75% but the bud seems realy dry and light in weight but is still a little sticky if you know wa i mean. should i leave the bud out for 12 hours until it reaches 70% then start burping the jars? iv also done the salt test on my hygrometer it read 77% after 2 hours.

im so aggravated i messed up some of my curing jars. some jars measure below 55%. in tears j/k but seriously this sucks...
I have a jar measuring 56% but the buds are still not dry and the stems arent anywhere near to snapping. Does that mean my hygrometer isnt calibrated correctly? Would it be possible for buds not to feel dry and stems not snapping with a reading like that? I'm freakin out over here. Thanks!
