k so i am setting up for my first grow i decded to use a mini fridge to keep it on the down low and besides i am only growing one plant for my own needs. k so i got a 100 wat bulb wich i am using until i get my pay check then i am buying cfl bulbs i plan on having about 150 w all together i have one fan pushing out air and one pushing air around the box but i cant seeem to get the fridge down to temp it ranges between 95-100f i was wondering if it would be best if i gutted the fridge?
thanks in adcance for any help it will be greatly appreciated...
Well, it definitely would be best to gut the fridge, but prepare for the worst 4+ hours of your life! The foam that is on the inside of those things is glued to the metal shell of the fridge and requires a LOT of scraping to get off!
The only other thing I would suggest is a more powerful fan for exhaust. Im not sure what you're using now, but Id recommend dropping anywhere from 20-100 bucks on a decent exhaust fan. I have a mini fridge thread going right now for my new setup, feel free to have a look, the link is in my thread. I use a 100/135 CFM S&P inline fan I bought for $91 after shipping, worth every penny! After running for 5+ hours the temp is 77F, ambient room temp is MAYBE 2 degrees lower than that, AND im pushing through a homemade carbon scrubber.
Hope that helps
