If Humans Utilized Photosynthesis?

How do you think this would change human life? Do you think this is even a viable possibility? Does it sound completely unrealistic?

Do you think scientists are working on some way to use the suns energy and convert it into a source of energy our bodies can use, so we would no longer be required to actually eat food?

Imagine the possibilities!

We have such an essential internal structure surface sunlight likely can't power/create enough food. But none the less a very cool idea.

How about a form a self-replicating grass that creates an electrical current?

sorry to burst your bubble, but most plants can't go on sunlight alone, they need nutrients, so do we, we get that from food, sunlight cannot be converted to nutrients, although i do think we already use some form of photosynthesis because when i walk into sunlight i feel totally energized

i read an article a while ago about some 80+ year old yogi in india who doesnt eat or drink anything...he just lives on energy from the earth, like sunlight and stuff. apparently, he stayed in a hospital under observation for 2 weeks and didnt eat/drink anything or use a washroom (to pee, etc. he did bathe). http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5jTToZb5_sZ3l5zoP7h4799CkAzIQ

the people in this article on msn swear he's clearly lying and that he'd be dead by now. http://bodyodd.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2010/05/10/4380027-70-years-without-eating-starving-yogi-says-its-true

i personally dont know what to think. i think that anything is possible. i DO think that we can learn to live without eating and drinking the amounts that we do now and replace some of that with just other types of energy (like solar) and i would like to think that one day we'll be able to live without food and drink.

If nanotechnology develops to its peak, we should be able to breathe a breath so deep, and nano bots can mimic red blood cells so well, we could swim for like 20 minutes underwater, and run for 3 miles on one breath.

Peace

i just read in discovery news that scientist have developed glass thats based on the idea of photosinthisis. the glass creates electricity similar to solor cells.

Maybe if a new photovoltaic cell was made to convert all spectrums of electromagnetic radiation. As far as i know, solar cells are inefficient. And about making photosynthesis part of our biology, maybe one day theyre be some human/plant hybrid and someone in the world and scientists will try to smoke him
