I want the sun in my grow room

I have a 8X12 room im growing in. What kind of lumens or how many lights will i need to equal the suns rays? When is too many lights overkill? I need to know in wattage. anybody help?!

more light the better,u will never beable to mach the suns output and lumens,so get as much as u can or do an outside grow and let nature take its course.

If you read the guides in the newbie section, If I recall right, it says the sun is around 10,000 lumens/square feet. Also the plants need at least 3,000 lumens/sqft. to survive but 6,000 - 7,000 lumens/sqft is optimal.

10,000 lumens per sq foot is the sun's brightness on a summer day.

I have heard between 7,000 & 10,000 lumens per sq feet is optimal.

3000 lumens per sq ft is minimal.
