Hi RIU,

I am a newbie so please bare with me. I have had these plants sprout on me at the end of Sept and now they are nearly a foot tall. I am in the process of topping and FIMming.

But the thing is, while I was doing this I noticed a smell on a couple of them at the tips, like weed seriously not like normal greenery.

Now I have also noticed what I think are preflowers and it is showing its sex. Have a look at these pics.

I have tried to take some close ups.

Also they are in gallon tubs, I wanted to transplant them cos roots are coming out the bottom drainage holes and I intended to finish in something bigger.
What shall I do if I need to do anything?

Thanks

First, it doesn't look like there's any indication of sex yet. Be patient ;)

I usually transplant when the leaf canopy grows wider than the pot, that way you know it is well-rooted.

They look normal to me.
FYI,some strains will show sex in veg.
I am growing white widow and have done so for the past couple of grows.
They always show sex in veg.
That's one thing that I like about the strain.
As far as the replanting goes I would purchase some 2 or 3 gallon smart pots.
They work really well and your plants won't become root bound.
They also keep your plants from getting root rot.
You can't over water them when they're in the smart pots since they're a porous material and the excess water drains out right away.
Hope this info helps you.
Good luck with your grow

I don't see anything yet.
I would transplant asap if you have roots coming out of the drain holes.

Hi thanks for your replies guys. Oh okay I thought they were preflowers.

I have to wait for pots damn wish I got them when I had the chance.

But the thing is I can definitely smell something when I go in my tent. Only some of them smell and the others smell of grass greenery. Is this normal?

Wait until you have 6 or more nodes, you will almost certainly see signs of sex. Seen em on every strain I've grown. But they are a sign of sexual maturity so, it may take 6-8 weeks to get there. Smell is a tough one. This year I had some small plants in veg that I could smell down the block. And I yet had a 5 foot plant in flower, that pretty much never smelled till harvest. Smell, especially "that" smell is a good sign, if you can keep it under control. :weed:

Good Luck

Man how did they smell down the block? Lol with hindsight I must've smelt countless grows none the wiser. Okay I'm waiting. I don't want to flip just yet not until I transplant them. I've got a carbon filter so will hook that up throughout flowering. Cheers for your reply. These last 5/6 weeks have flown past!! :)
