I think I got shafted...

So I just picked up an eight from my regular guy, said it was $60 for an eighth of headies. Didn't give me a name, just said it was "good shit, like I always sell you man" I took his word for it and didn't really take a good look at it until I got back to my apartment. Looking at it now it really doesn't look like headies to me at all. I'd say just really good beasters. It's got that skunk smell which is a good sign, but there are barely any white crystals on the bud. In all my past experiences, when I've gotten good bud I could tell right away, but with this it isn't so obvious. So with that I'd like to ask you all, what do you look for when you buy bud? Also, as kind of a random side question: I was talking to my friend after we just took a couple waterfalls, and he was saying that using the ratchet pieces isn't a good idea. He's a chem major, and he said that all those chemicals that are released when you heat the metal is really bad for you. He said you should use brass pieces instead. Can any of you confirm this?

I dunno on the ratchet thing but I use mine all the time. And imo 60 for an eighth of anything is getting shafted. I just paid 55 a quarter for super silver haze.

Prices at school are retardedly expensive no matter who you get it from. The only time I get good bud for low price is back at home.

What are we supposed to look for other than how it tastes & how high you get from it,who cares how it looks,after its all smoked up it makes zero difference.

You young guys who are willing to pay the obscene prices that you are getting charged are only hurting yourselves,when you perpetuate all this beasters & headies nonsense you put the dealer in charge,now days all everybody cares about is what the weeds name is, or crystal count on the bud,or if its purple,the only things name & crystal count are good for is the impress a friend factor.

Ive smoked weed with zero crystals on the bud that blew away shit with modern gimmiky names many times over,you got indica & satava,thats about it in my book the rest is fluff.

and if possible, you should learn to grow your own. Nirvana Northern Lights seeds are easy, and give great skunk buds.

beasters are the shitty uniform nuggets that canada send to the us tthey are really dense smell like hay usually sometimes like skunk and have been keifed to deasth so they dont have many crystals beasters suck

they are also all chemy tasting usually and leave black coal in your pipe when your done smoking

60 an eigth is common around here for most people and ive met some black folks who sell dank or even beasters for like 30-40 a g its ridiculous
