I Need electrical advice..

Hello, I have a 220 Volt outlet in my garage for my Arc Welder. Is it possible to use that for my 1000 Watt growlamp. Will the electricity bill be cheaper to run the 220Volt???. An electrician told me it's cheaper to run my household washer and dryer with 220V instead of through normal 110V. Also, will I have to buy a different plug and wire for my growlamp to use it with 220Volt, Thanks CW.

the difference in power usage between 1kw on 220 vs 110 wont be even worth thinking about

gotta make sure you ballast can use 220....
