I need advice on a light upgrade

I am currently running a 250 watt in a 2'dx4'wx5'h tent. Summer is here and I want to get an air cooled hood. For a few dollars more I can upgrade to a 400 watt set up with a cool tube. Do you think a 400 will be overkill for my tent? I am worrying about height restrictions more than heat because it will be vented outside. How close to my plants can a 400 get? Thanks in advance.

you can keep an air cooled light close to the canopy, so go ahead and get it its not overkill

Thanks for the reply. How close can you get with a 400? With my 250 I can easily get 4 inches away with just a couple fans and no cooled hood. Do you think a 600 will be overkill?

A 600 yes (overkill), a 400 no. The 400 would be perfect coupled with a cooltube with that size box.

i would go 400 also
