my child has an insistent habit of yanking his shoes of without opening the laces. He usually steps on the heal and of the shoes and forces them of thus spoiling the shoes This has forced me to choose laced childrens shoes so as to make it harder for him to do this. Is there any danger of dislocating the ankle?

Instead of shoes, make him wear 9 pairs of socks (plastic bag wrapped when it rains).
Problem solved.

when he is walking barefoot in the snow he will remember to take care of the next pair.

teach him to not step on it, but only hold his foot on the side of the shoe and move the other leg back to remove the shoe.

My kids did that for years, they never had any ankle problems, I wear boots pretty much 90 percent of the time and do the same thing

Ankle dislocations are a common and growing hazard, due to this improper technique of shoe care.

Teach him the reverse thumb to heal method, and his shoes should last a lifetime...
