i have a question on IR cause i want to stick a couple in doors

Hey when would a ir search mostly likly to occur in the day if it was to happen? if it were to tearn the lights on durring the day, a double 40" flo fixture durring the day near the roof do you think that the heat from the roof would mask the light heat?

anyone ever been busted from an ir?
