I have a question about soil

I cant find rock-wool anywhere. No one in the city I live in carries this stuff.

What is the best soil for growing my plants?

Something that I can buy from home depot or lowes.

miracle grow?

and I'm planning on building a hydroponic system using this submersable pond pump that I bought. The problem with my hydroponic system is that I could not find a single store that sold 1/4 black tubing.

I'm lacking this 1/4 black tubing and whatever device I need to purchase that will carry water to each individual plant, it looks like a spike that is pushed into the dirt next to my plant. What is this thing called?

A dripper?http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=44223-1029-MLD-STA&lpage=none
You could always order rockwool online, it doesnt weigh much. You cant use soil in hydroponics because it contradicts itself, you can do a drain to waste system with soil. I wouldnt use miracle grow, some people have problems with it depending on your strain. You could mix your own
LOWES- Canadian Spagnum Peat Moss(already PHd with lime)
- mushroom compost
Home Depot- Perlite(giant bags for $13)
4parts peat moss
2parts perlite
1part compost
i add a little dolemite lime anyways
That will give you a nice fluffy medium

Lowes and Home depot should both have sections with multiple styles of drippers and sprayers, 1/4in tubing. Have you looked in the pvc isle? thats were they will be, just look for pvc pipe
