I purchased this system: DARK HYDROPONIC GROW GARDEN SYSTEM NUTRIENTS 8 PLANTS! - eBay (item 250728227882 end time Nov-23-10 18:54:07 PST)

I plan on growing a few low ryders as I live in an apt building and I want to keep my grow discrete. I plan on making this: http://forum.grasscity.com/grow-room-design-setup/144976-perfect-odour-neutralizer.html

Also I plan on using CFL lights. One question is how many should I use and what Wattage if I am growing 3 low ryder ak-47?

I also plan on using a cardboard housing with mylar for light reflection along with a large computer fan that is battery operated.

What else would I need for this to be successful? What nutes and how often should I use them? Again the CFL lighting Question above.

Thanks in adavnce ladies and gents.

the answer with CFLs is always "MORE!". On a price-point suggestion, my tip would be to buy as many 42 Watt (actual, 105 relative I think) CFLs as you have sockets for. If you have more money than sockets, I would get the big 65 watters from Lowe's/HomeDepot. For an actual number, I would say at least 6 per plant for either. The more light you have, the bigger/denser your flowers will be. If you can hold off and pick up a 400 watt HPS, you'll be much happier. Seriously, once you start growing with CFL, you'll find yourself at the store every week picking up more bulbs and sockets. It will get to a point where you've spent way more money than on a HID (even if just a small hps security light fixture).

in a way i agree, hps is for sure the best. but some people cant vent the HPS. maybe even look into T5's before CFL's. a easy nute to use is GH products, even FF in hydro system is good. i honestly wouldnt worry about the smell that much until the last 4-5 weeks of flowering. the smell can be easily covered up by a wall scent towards the beginning
