I Have a Couple Important Questions Before i Ruin my Grow.

Hello everyone. I just had a couple questions to ask before i end up ruining my damn grow by accident. Ive read lots of books cover to cover. Ive spent countless hours searching the web. Ive done a couple grows myself. But my system has changed so some new issues have popped up.

1. First and most importantly. Would it be better to veg in 96w cfl or 400w hps. I just purchased the hps bulb. I usually veg cfl but the wattage is such a difference.

2. Am i able to change the times the lighting is on and off once ive started. Like right now my lights are on 20 and off 4. Turning off at 8pm and coming back on at 12am. However my timer seems to get behind for some reason. Like it will be an hour late then 2 hours late through out the week. Not sure why that is. Anyway i was going to just start doing it manually. Will it hurt the plants if i turn the lights off at 10pm and back on at 2am instead of the time i started with?

3. And lastly how much superthrive should i be mixing to a gallon of water? I water them every other day or when the top of the soil is dryed out. Im using botanicare organic nutes for veg and thats it.

And i forgot to mention i am growing organically.

All help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance

The answer to your light question should be more than obvious. As far as the scheduling, during veg my thoughts would be that an hour difference here or there won't hurt anything. If you do go manually, just do your best to keep to a fairly regular schedule, give or take 15-30 minutes. As for the nutrients, read the label or look online for feeding amounts and schedules.

I use both 100w 6500k cfl's and a 400w mh if the cfl's are 6500k I would leave them too.

yo playa, I would veg them under the cfl's just for power saving though plants are pretty resilient in veg, IOW veg them however the heck is most convienient... as long as they are growing . If you are changing light while vegging... again.. if they are vegging its kind of a whatever you want kinda deal.. change light cycles by ab hour...even two... shouldnt much matter at all... as long as they keep growing... when you are flowering is apparently the time to worry about adhering to strict schedules...keep them the same as much as possible 12 on 12 off... but veggin is just fattening them up and they dont care...as for nutes just follow the regimine... if you change hours just stay the same on the nutes... if you are vegging, veg nutes, if flowering flower nutes if any sign of burn at any point, flush, give only water until they stabilize and then resume normal veg/flower nutes... remember you are growing a weed.. it will thrive if you leave it the fuck alone... nutes are only for a better end result... until you figure it out (like im trying to) then you will get SOMETHING... tweak it as you go to get the best you can with what you have to work with... Much love to the RIU community... peace

you should refrain from giving advice until you.have more experience or else you risk spreading misinformation, most cannabis specific flower nutrients don't have enough nitrogen to maintain healthy growth throughout the entire flowering stage.

just because someone only has a few posts doesnt mean they arent experienced. if that was the case then maybe you should refrain from giving misinformation. flower nutes dnt have a lot of N because cannabis doesnt require large amounts of N during flowering.

I don't think Superthrive is Organic. I read that on a bunch of posts here, and it doesn't say anything on the bottle, at least that I saw and I read all that crap on there, about it being organic. There is alot written on that bottle though, like the Bronners bottle, and it could be hidden. Let us know, I don't have a bottle handy.

I find 400w hps pretty intense for seedlings, You have to have it high up. I have a 400 digital dimable ballast that i can run a 250w MH in, much better.
