I am new in that I did a 2000 watt grow some years back with a sealed room and co2. I did not control humidity and lost most of the grow to mold, ignorance and neglect.
Now I am close to ready to try again on a smaller scale with a very minimal budget.
As of now I have a room “shell” that will be finished in 2 days. It will only be 4 foot by 7 ½ foot with a 9 foot sealing.
The materials on hand.
2 large carbon filters
2 cool tube hoods
1 small open hood satiable for 250 watt bulb
2 1000 watt ballast
2 600 watt ballast
2 400 watt ballast
3 250 watt ballast
2 1000 watt MH bulbs
6 or 8 400 watt HPS bulbs
3 250 watt HPS bulbs
2 440 CFM duct blowers 6 inch
2 fan speed controllers
1 oscillating fan
programable thermostat controllers that could be used to run the fans
a bunch of timers
associated duct material.
The room will be air tight. I do not want to start out using co2 as my budget does not allow
The room has 6 inch thick insulation on all sides 1 foot above and 1 foot under.
A steel foam filed door.
2 20 amp dedicated 110v runs from the breaker box.
3 doors to the outside with a security cam inside the grow room to check the other side of the door.
I will do a radio frequency sweep for potential radio noise from DC to 2 GHZ
Here is what I am thinking. I will pull fresh air from a protected part of the basement.
The air will enter from a Styrofoam cooler placed inside another styrofoam cooler with noise baffling. This will vent to the floor of the room
The air will pass through the 2 carbon filters that will be placed at the sealing causing a constant negative pressure in the room, through the 2 cool tube ballast then be vented to another 2 cooler baffling system then passed to a 10 sq ft. mixer box with a negative ion filtration system.
There is a room that is air tight outside of the grow room intended to be used as an air lock.
The actual grow space will be 4 foot by 4 foot by 9 foot high with 2 lights evenly spaced in the center. I plan on starting with 2 400 watt HPS bulbs only because I have them. Then later switching to 2 600 watt bulbs.
My first room was no easily accessed, 30 miles away and a bad winter caused problems with getting there consistently. This room will have 24/7 access.
I plan on using soil, sea of green.
Unfortunately my new budget is very low so I don’t want to make costly mistakes. It is so low that even seed and soil will be a strain at first. At this time I don’t have AC in the budget so co2 is out and I will be relying on outside air for cooling.
So the question is. Is there any problems that stand out?
This will be a private stash grow room. Will 16 squar feet keep me buzzed?
