Hydroponic Question

Me and my friend plan on growing using a 10 gallon hydroponic system. We cannot find any Rock wool at our local Wal-Mart, or Canadian Tie. I was wondering if you would be able to use Peat Pellets as a medium instead of rock wool? Thanks

Were using a 10 gallon fish tank with a couple air stones suctioned to the bottom. Were gonna have 4 trays cut into a block of styrofoam, and the styrofoam will float on the water inside the tank. We just cant find anything to put in the trays to put the plants in

Other than coco, I dont think you want to put organic mediums in a hydro setup. You don't want all that stuff breaking apart and getting all over your system. I'm new to hydro too, so others may know more.
