so i got kicked out of a hydroponics store today for asking about what is a good alternative to fox farms for medical cannabis. she said can't help with cannabis and said to not use that term. even tho it is legal to grown medical cannabis in california why was i kicked out? i mean i came back in and asked for help with tomatoes and she helped me. what gives? how should i ask for help in a hydro store if they aren't comfortable with that term.

when you call your babies tomatoes they know what you are talking about, got the same problem with the local store here..
Generally, it is assumed you are growing cannabis, there's legalities to certain wording in different places, they may just specifically not want to advocate cannabis cultivation to keep from being hassled. Maybe the feds had 'em bugged, there's no telling..
Thing is, like I sad, the people working in these places are used to dealing with a customer base where probably 85%+ are buying supplies just to do this. Just ask them questions, with as much detail as you want, just don't use terms that refer directly to a marijuana plant.

That is with good reason. He is not paranoid he is smart. Cops have been known to follow grow store patrons home to see if they have a garden in there yard. Most people dont grow vegatables inside and the cops know this.

generally its from a distance with bino's to get the tag # and run it, and from a distance they might not be able to get the adjacent parking lot.

This reminds me of when I went to my local hydro store. I never said what I was growing, I just gave the guy helping me the specs on what I needed for fertilizers. He picked them out and said "These are going to be the most cost effective and over-all growth wise effective for what YOU'RE growing" and he kinda gave me a wink xD. It more reminds me of head shops though. Least the ones around here, they're water pipes, not "bongs"..right...cause we all know you smoke tobacco out of "water pipes" same goes for pipes and grinders. It's like....they know that you know it's not for tobacco...they just can't admit it legally. Though in this case...I think your sale person was probably a prude. Also..cops can follow you, but they can't search anything you own without a warrant....so don't put your plants in a place easily viewable when you walk inside your place? Common sense no?
