Hydro Into Soil?

I have friend who has 2 extra clones of pineapple chunk in hydryo. About 8" tall and looking healthy. He has no room so he is going to give them to me to put under my 400Mh. I grow soil. Can I take his bare roots right into soil. My guess it will shock it a little but after a few days it should be fine correct?

I wasn't sure where to post this. I have a few successful harvests under my belt but wasn't sure about this question.

yea prob stress a little but should bounce back nicely
