Hydro HELP!!!

Ok so me and my friends were thinking of building a box underground for this. It will be streilized and covered with a tarp. We also would attach the lights to the top. Is this possible?? Since the box cant be super tall we would need to grow sideways any thought on how to do this?

I am super new to growing and havnt grown yet. But this summer we are going to hit it hard and have a practice run. I understand this isnt the best choice for beginning growers but we are smart and able to do it.

why in a hole in the ground and where is the power source for the light

Well we were thinking of putting a car batterie in the box with it. The two people that are helping are great at building cabinets and such. The hole would be very secure and we have no were else.

not so if yo even think of using a car battery , you need to start by reading get some grow books and keep going through the outdoor grow section

Ok but we will be using a hydroponic system in the box and it will be covered and sealed from everything else. Would a generator work??

WOW!! I am speechless. Let me get this straight you want to dig a shallow hole put a battery in it for lighting and then grow sideways using hydroponics? I wish I had kept a list of all the great ideas I have seen here on RUI. This ranks right up there with I heard that pee is good for plants how often should I pee on them? Dude just steal some of your parents stash.

well , your idea won't work but at least you are thinking.
What kind of system are you wanting to use and maybe people can help you design a cabinet ?

Smart people dont spell battery wrong

raised bed hydro. you can make it super easy just get 3 buckets. misting. reservoir. pump, timer, chemicals, and you can do any kind.
IDK if you want to do some mycrorizzal fungi? they dont even effect the taste so you can use them in hydro. get like a wick system or even an activated.

I just pour a waterbottle full of water once a day on mine and the mycro fungi will suck the soil dry fast enough that the plant is growing at god like speed.

you can grow a plant totally sideways with rope. but you growing in a coffin arent you.

your growing in a coffin? Nice. you just got to get the stem pulled totally over to the side and give it plenty of light. it will grow super slow but will grow. especially if you let it grow up like 6 in first then pull it slowly as it goes so it stays close as possible to light for as much time as it can. even young plants crave light.

p.p.s.
use LEDs to really cut down on heat fumes. you can get the leaves much more room to stretch out if you dont need a big venting system for your light. just get 2 or 3 of the square led panels and let the plant get like 1 inch from them before pulling it down with rope.

lol this will not work. the car battery will work, but how are going to keep it charged? it once depleted, the battery is basically ruined. a generator would work, but it needs to be running often, if not all the time.

how big in the ground? give some dimensions, just anything rough so i can picture this.
