Hydro flood & drain system - 1st time

Hi All,
I am going to undertake 4 mothers using a flood and drain system. I have never used rock wool before and never tried flood and drain. I was wondering if anyone could give me a basic layout on how I should tackle this. I do not need info on nutes, air flow, lighting etc. All I need is:
-how I should set up my system for feeding(how often and for how long)
-how long should I have my lamps running on a daily basis (18-6, 20-4?)
-how often should I clean my reservoir
-do you use water bubblers? if not why? if so why?
-common mistakes made with such a system etc

Please note that I am using reversed osmosis water with this system and I will be doing 4 mothers using a 10 gallon reservoir.

Also any feed back or links about growing and maintaining mother plants for cloning would be helpful as well. Thanks in advance!!

berry welcome to flood n drain world. i recently jumped on the wagon a month or 2 ago after growing in soil. and i can say i love F&D.

first off if your using rockwool it retains alot more water then say hydroton(what i use). so depending on size of plant you may be only flooding once or twice a day.
from what ive read on RW you only want to flood 3/4 of the cube. so how long you flood depends on the gph of your pump. so youll need to see for ureself how long that takes to get to desired level on the cube.
i run 18/6 in veg
youll want some kind or large airstone or powerhead in your res to keep your nutes from settling and causing problems(clogging, algae, etc).
i drain my res no more then 2 times a month unless i need to fix something nute wise.

ive learned having a stationary drain hose that you can easily connect to your pump for easy and clean draining makes life much simpler. and a seperate hose to fill your res.

i keep my mothers in soil and take clones(aerocloner) to put onto my tables.
look at my sig to see what im talking about.
