HVAC question

I have a 6" ceiling output from my homes central AC in my bedroom and would like to use a splitter hooked up to it and run 4" ducting right into my 4 x 8 tents.

Is this ok to do, and if so, would it be good to use a 6" x 4" x 4" splitter? I would think the airflow coming from a 6" central line might be too weak to split into two 6" ducts. Or would 4" be too small?

I usually just let the ceiling output blow into the room itself and use extra tent inputs to bring in the "cool" air. What I'm trying to do is make the tents even cooler by inputting the cold air directly into the tents while still keeping the extra inputs.

The cost of trying this experiment would be about $20 for the splitter. My only concern is using the central AC output vent hooked up directly into the tent. There would be negative pressure from the exhaust fans 24/7 so I'm wondering if air would be forcibly pulled from that vent when the AC isn't running and if that would be a bad thing.

Not an HVAC expert but I believe your plan is sound concerning 4” splitter, not 6”. I don’t think there will be an issue with negative pressure. You will, of course, lose some air volume with two 4” off a 6”.

I did some calculations and found that two 4" duct would cause a very slight backup of air in the system. 6" output with round duct is about 28.5" and a 4" output is about 12.5". I would be about 3.5" short. Two 5" would be plenty but I can't seem to find a 6 x 5 x 5 splitter yet. I'll keep looking.

Also looking to see if there is a junction box I can place right over the ceiling box that has two 5" outputs. The 5" output is about 19.5" so plenty of room without backup when you double that number to 39.
