Humboldt Gravitation 10 to dense up buds??

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this.. I've been looking for a bud hardener that doesn't contain any chemical pgr's. Has anyone ever tried G10? Also looking at Rock Resinator.

FYI - I know the best way is choosing a dense strain, having cool temps and having an optimal environment however, I am still looking for something else.

Sounds like you're looking to pay $45 a quart for some kelp and potassium hydroxide. If you know what the best way is then why are you looking for overpriced products?

Because I want denser buds. Apparently products like G10 contain triacontanol which is a natural pgr. I've only seen a few reviews and most of them are from someone that knows a person that uses it.

You can grow dense buds without those products.

I get rock hard nugs without any hardners. It has a lot to do with genetics but I have seen how optimal conditions will make a strain grow rocks. Sometimes people harvest too soon, run too hot, don't dim lights as they ripen...

Triacontanol is used mainly for the vegging effects as far as I'm aware.
Genetics and light are the key to dense flowers.

I've been using triacontanol for about a month and a half and am about to take my first harvest with tria being a major contributor. So far, it's looking good for weight, every bud appears to be hardened, I'm a good week ahead of schedule. When I put that plant into bloom, it wasn't as big as I'm used to putting in and was only 6 weeks so I only expect about 3/4lb from it, but I am certain it did better due to the tria. 3 weeks older in another bloom room is another cutting from the same batch described above, the 2nd has grown tall with tighter node spacing and all of the buds seem to be developing a bit quicker than normal for this pheno I've been running. Also, in veg, I just set a personal record for rooting clones in rockwool at 6 days. I am about 100% successful, but usually in 10-12 days to root.

I still want more time to work with it, but I have 3 equally timed bloom rooms, I chop every 3 weeks and have all stages of growth alive at any given time so I can test things on my whole crop and learn 4 months of information in one month. I've read in passing that elevated K will harden buds and is why I jack my K up for the final week and that seems to work for the good tops, not so much for the down low stuff. But if you can get your hands on tria, do so. I bought the powder and cooked enough to make a gallon of 25ppm which I bet is more than 25x stronger than what you'll find in a $50 quart. If you live in the states, check out Power Grown, they have a bunch of PGRs, some of the good ones and some of the bad ones. Buyer beware, lol.

Foliar spray once a week, I try to get the undersides of leaves, but everywhere otherwise, just adequate coverage.

Thanks for the detailed response I'm definitely going to give it a try. I bought the G10 a few days ago but I'm starting to think I should have just got triacontanol powder and made a stronger solution now lol

Advanced Nutrients Nirvana has triacontanol. I gave some to my plants AFTER the flowering stretch when the plants hadn't increased in height for awhile, after a half dose of Nirvana they started stretching again. I use triacontanol foliars in veg, but it doesn't seem like a good thing to add in flower.

Yeah I use it and it works. Buds are super dense and filled out (even the sativas). It doesn't raise ppm so I usually add quite a bit. I must admit though that my environment has been near perfect so that obviously plays a big role as well :)
