are these guys ballasts legit or are they shitty they seem like crazy good deal but am afraid they will fry or something almost seems too good to be true

its not that huge of a deal check out mgsupply on ebay, they have the quantum ballast for the same price, actually its 20 bucks cheaper, as far as lights go look for a ul listing that way you know its at least not going you know it wont burst in to flames first time out, and stay away from shit made in china, i have heard lots of stories of off brand shit from china c

yea but these gusy include mh, and hps bulb, reflector, and a pulley. The link to the manufacturer is nto working for me. Would u guys think it would be a bad idea ordering from them? the company is legit and they are also based in B.C so its great for canadians that dont want to deal with certain items crossing the border if your in the states go with HTGsupply or you can check local classifieds. i found the 400 watt mh im using in my closet in the classifieds for 100$ not a bad deal.

HEY EVERYONE. I actually work directly with this company and am a rep for the company. I have been in the industry for a long time and have never seen such an amazing priced product with such high quality and technologies.. the stuff is top notch all the way.. the best value is the inline reflector packages which have intigated 6" cooltube running the length of 24".. its identical to the silver star deluxe units.. the ballast have amazing perfomance and such small failure rates that are averaging 3 units out of every 1000.. thats ten times better than lumetek.. THere is no R.F. problems at all with any of the wattage.. I know other customers who have been having problems with r.f. in the lumetek line and even worse with quantum.. I can also tell you that we will have a new ballast out soon which is also dimmable but will also run any bulb from 250 to 1000 and all in between and or you can adjust the dimming switch to get the performacne you want..

I question the validity of this company. I placed an order with them last week. It took me half a day to get someone on the phone to take my order. They gave me a UPS tracking number that is invalid, which means they have yet to ship the product (I hope they do ship it). I used my Visa/Debit card to make the purchase. It was reported as a "miscellaneous transaction". I can't imagine why it doesn't show up as their company name on my statement. I've tried all day long to get in touch with them both by phone and email. The jury is out. I will update this thread if the lights show up or if I got ripped off. I would not order from Illumalights ever again. The also have other companies that they do business as. They sell motorized bikes and other crap. All with bad reviews. I hope I didn't lose my money.

The light kit finally showed up today. I was told that the origional order was "lost in shipping". We all know that the order was not properly processed on their end.

The whole thing is a poorly built piece of junk. The ballast looks like a cheap copy the the Lumatek digital ballast, except the Illumalight has a fan and is is branded by a company call Power King. There is no UL listing on the ballast. I'm not sure if it will support both MH and H.P.S as claimed. It says on the ballast, "Lamp Type: High presure sodium. I know that the origional Lumatek's supported MH and H.P.S but not on the 600w ballast. The redesigned Lumatek's support MH and H.P.S except on the 750w ballast.

I hope to find out if it even works. It was shipped with the wrong cord.

Lumatek ballasts operate both metal halide and high pressure sodium lamps. They will not light MV mercury vapor lamps which are commonly sold in hardware and some hydroponics stores.
*Please note the 750 watt ballast is HPS only.

The timer that shipped with it is cheap chinese crap. It is light and flimsy. I doubt if it will work for a week.

I spent hours again today trying to contact this company to get a replacement cord. They promised to call me back in an hour with information. They (or should I say he) never called back.

I think the company is just some guy with a fancy phone system. His name is John. He answers the phone everytime and you have to call a million times to get him to answer. He never returns voice mail or email.

I'll let you know if he ever sends a cord set that will work and how long it takes him to send it if he does.

Thanks for the no holds barred review, much appreciated. Was looking at the tents this company sells. Looks like a standard tent 3x3x6 but stingy on ports(3 circular 3 square) and has no info on manufacturer. There's about 6 up on eBay right now for about a hundred bucks. Man good thing I just got outbid! Will steer clear of this company.

I bought the 6" cooltube, 600w MH/HPS combo for $300 on 1/28.

Cooltube was broken on arrival, I won't get a replacement until 2/20 or so. Had a spare ceramic harness to do a burn test for the ballast, after 6 hours it shitted it's brains out, now I am sitting here with a useless ballast and broken cooltube and 6 dying plants..

these guys and run as far away as possible...

2 sessions and still going buying bulbs next batch i got the 400 combo cool tube. one of the pully never worked so had to get chain i did think about cutting the reflector in half.

I took a quick look... looks like crap and there prices suck. For the price of there cheap china no name 400 ballast you can get the Lumatek dial a watt for the same price! Check out plantlightinghydroponics.com best prices around. I was nervous ordering from plh the first time because of the prices and they took a week to ship which made me even more nervous. But I guess they had a problem with a bulb that I ordered. I got a hold of someone quickly and told them that I needed this stuff by the end of the week and they upgraded the shipping to next day air for free so that I got everything on time. Everything was packaged perfect and worked great. Seriously check them out.

yes run away so they are always in stock for the rest of us...iv run a used 400 watt for 2 grows and its still perfect...did u girlfriend dump u too?
