I am thinking about going to HPS for my new cab.

Here is light 150w HPS I am thinking about getting.

Here it is disassembled.

What would I need if anything to get this going and how much extra heat should I expect.

this chart will show how close your light needs to be and you can determine how hot the light is after you get it going

you just need to put a power cord on it and you can expect about as much heat as 5 or 6 23 watt cfls.

Sweet. So basically hook the power cord up and build a reflector and let er rip? I thought it was much harder than that.

I would like to try and leave it compact. If it gets too hot I can try to make the ballast remote.
