HPS Light Bulbs

First timer... but are hps light bulbs able to fit into normal desk lamp, or other normal lamps for incadesacent lights? If the wattage is the same? Is it dangerous or risky?

Okay didn't think so. But I dont want to buy an expensive HPS hanging Grow Light, so thats why I wanted the lights so how do you use them (I was thinking about getting 3-4 for a closet grow)??

No bro HPS lights are attached to their own systems which usually come with a ballast, to control the voltage etc given to the light bulb , and a refelector which u connect the bulb into. theyre in all ranges, usually being 70w, 150w,400w,600w, and 1000w. theyre a different system of lights.sory if i got into too many details

You need an HPS ballast. Good (remote) ones start around $100, and can power a 400w bulb.

check out any online store.....I just got a Lumatek 600w ballast, aXL Xtrasun coolable light and a Eye Hortilux bulb for $375 out the door from clubhydro.com, it's a pretty nice setup
