HPS in veg question

Would it be ok to use a 400w hps for the first few weeks of veg? I know MH is better but im still in the process of buying a 600w digital setup.
At the moment they are under a 2ft 2bulb t5 and are almost 2 weeks since they broke soil.
Im happy with the t5 but im just wondering if i would be better using the hps for a few weeks or stick with the t5?

Yes you can use the hps.
It will do fine.
It is said that if you have to pick one light for the whole grow then pick hps over mh

Stick with the T5 for now.

I've used HPS for veg, it's okay. Proceed with the knowledge that it isn't an ideal solution; 315W CMH is much better.

This is only good advice until your plants get taller than ten inches.

Hps is fine, thats all I use. The plants complain sometimes, just keep your pimp hand strong and it will all work out.

Then by them time you move from t5 it should be time to flip so you'll need hps for flower?

Lol I moved on from HPS a long time ago.
