hps ballast help

hi i have a 600w hps ballast im having some trouble with it when i want to turn it on ill need to sit there for like 5 minutes turning the power on and off untill it turnes on and sometimes when im trying to do this the light will flash on and off when i turn it to off mode though it will light up after awhile of playing around with the power switch.
could this be the ignitor?
or what could it please any help would be very great full
as i dont want to waist a fortune on buying a new ballast i would rather buy the part that is broken part thanks

Double check all conections, and make sure that the bulb is screwed tightly into place. Most ignition problems i've seen have been down to the bulb not being screwed in properly.

you should never flip a ballast on and off, its bad for it and the bulb. is it a new bulb, old bulb, is it extremely humid?

it was brand new and it did it when i opend the box i just cant be stuffed sending it back under warantee as it will take me around 3-5 weeks to get the replacment

is it a magnetic ballast or digital!!??

its a growlush 600w non digital

if you bought a brand new ballast that doesnt work then send it back. problem solved

yeah, if you fuck with it you will just void the warranty and then you will be really pissed

sounds like u have a bad bulb. and yes never just sit there and turn your ballast on and off. not good for them at all.
