How would you design this 400w HPS cabinet? (PIX))

I have a 400 watt HPS Cool Tube for flowering and I want to have a consistent flow of green every couple weeks. How could I accomplish this with a cabinet 68" tall x 40" wide x 21.5"deep?

Your main problem is that the cabinet is split down the middle, is that removable or not? If not then you are dealing with 4 chambers, the two main chambers being 20 inches wide, 20 inches deep, and what looks like roughly 50 inches high.

Ok here is what I would do. Take the 4 chambers and set up your cabinet running two different strains. You put one 12inch flurescent light in the top of each upper smaller chamber. This is where you will start your initial seeds or clones. Then I would build two, 300 wattHPS cooltubes to flower each box below. Each cooltube will be attached to the exterior side wall and an exhaust fan will be attached to each on the exterior of the unit near the top. if stealth is needed these can be done through the rear of the unit, keep in mind light will leak through these if you attach them this way, but it will cause the least amount of heat problems. Then you would just have to cut one passive air intake hole near the bottom of each flowering chamber. Each flowering chamber would run a DWC with 4-5 plants in each DWC. Stagger the two flowering chambers by a month and then you can harvest one chamber each month assuming you are using two strains that flower in roughly 60 days. With this design you would use no mother chamber. What you would do is take your inital seeds or clones and grow them out. Once they are too tall for the upper chamber put them in the lower flowering chambers under your HPS lighting. But run your lights 18/6, dont induce floweing yet. When your seedlings or initial clones are large enough, take cuttings. Then put these clones in the top box and flip your lights in the flowering chamber. The new clones above will take root and stabalize and then be ready for the next cycle below after you have harvested. Then you repeat the process. However, I would not attempt this design unless I was an experienced grower. Since you are using no mothers and simply taking clones from plants you are about to flower, if you screw up the cloning process and none of them make it, your other plants of that strain are already in flowering and you are stuck. You will then have to start that strain again from seed or clone.

Your other, and safer option, if you are less yield minded, would be to make one of the large lower chambers a mother chamber and grow one or two plants in there through DWC or soil. I prefer DWC. Then make the other chamber the flowering chamber with the HPS lighting and one of the top small chambers a clone box. The other small upper chamber could simply house all of your pumps and ballast, or your nutes and ph testing supplies. THE PIC SHOWS A BOX LIKE THIS. The right side is the mother side and the left is the flowering side with the 400HPS.

thanks guys! I have changed my set up since then but i appreciate the assistance. I did plan on eventually making it 2 chambers and having 1/3 of it for mothers.

feel free to hit me up for ideas. I will be using my 400 HPS for the main cab and cfls for veg / mothers / clones.

I have seen that cabinet st HD. It has a chamber on the right side that would work for a mother but I decided it was not built out of reliable material and got a metal one. As for the mother area I just take two clones from each plant before flowering them. I don't need a mother that way.

My next move is to change the ventilation in it. Currenty my intake and exhaust is through the same window. I am going to go through ther floor for the intake and out the window. Here are the plans I mase last night.

Veg area on the bottom and flower up top. 36x18x72 total size. The box attached to the back of the cabinet and fits airtight (with weather stripping) in the window frame.
