how to wire a three prong plug to florescent light

The florescent light fixture i would like to use for my grow closet doesnt come wired with a three pronged plug for the wall socket....It has three wires to connect to house power....can i connect a three prong power cord to those wires??? anyone know of a link to explain how I can wire it up correctly..SAFELY

You know how to wire a plug? Wire it up straight into a wall plug (you can buy them in most DIY stores), fit a fuse (if the plugs into your country contain them. And you're sorted.

Yes, that is the way it's done. Buy you a $2.65 (or whatever) male plug at Home Depot. The black and white wires go to the main two; the green wire goes to the bonded ground (the bottom plug that's different shaped). Twist the wires, tuck them in, screw them down, replace the insulating cover, plugger in.
