Hi, I got a mother plant that is a drip bucket. ( built exactly like this one : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=105e3eALKPs&feature=watch-vrec )

But now she so tall that she is reaching the top of my Tent...

Normaly I veg het using a 400watt MH lamp, I try to use CFL to stop her from growing, but she is slowly continuing...
How can a make her smaller ? Can I top her ? how can I do that ?

I also have 2 problems ( dont know if they are big or not but they are ) I have some leaf yellowing and fallling ... Im in veg on 18/6 cycle....
And her root are brown... not really smelly... don t know if ist root rot ...
I start using sm-90... time will tell.

Thanks for your time.

I have put some picture for the height problem.

yeah go ahead and top and trim her up some. just keep an eye on the roots make sure she isnt getting root bound after a bit. you could also start a new mother from clone and flower her out and tie her down and stuff.

CFLs will probably make it grow more since its not enough light and it will reach further to get closer to it, I would put her back under the HPS. If you leaves are yellowing from the bottom up, its probably too little nitrogen in the soil. If you would like to see how to top and tie her down you can look at my current grow as Im doing that. https://www.rollitup.org/cfl-fluorescent-lighting/628182-cinderella-99-cfl-grow.html Brown roots would indicate root rot so make sure you have holes in the bottom of your pot for water to drain out and give it a flushing.

you can top that plant by simply cutting off the entire top section, you could even possibly root the entire top giving you a big ass clone

she wont mind a bit. just cut her right above a healthy node and try to root the whole top.

you could also use this method:

a plastic (or in this case bubble wrap) sheet full of damp sterile sphagnum or peat moss is taped or zip tied around the stem where you want roots to grow, and in a few weeks youll see a root system developing while the limb branch or top is still on the main plant, once the roots are developed, you cut, plant aand grow the new plant from an old top or limb.

it's called "Air Layering" and it works on many hard to root trees and plants (like fruit trees) and is super easy on plants like cannabis or tomatoes which will root with only minimal encouragement.

Edit: i also grow in DWC, and the top drip is redundant. the roots take up the water and nutriens from below, and the bubble action and osmosis keep the upper root system sufficiently moist.

as long as your air pump keeps the shit bubbling, thats all you need.
