How to set-up

Ok so right now i am running a 250 watt mh. I found a conversion bulb to hps but it is 90$ for the bulb. I was thinking about having cfls for veg and mother and the conversion for flowering. But I also found a hps system for 115$. So I guess the question would be should I go ahead and just get the bulb or invest in a new system?

maybe just buy a new ballast for hps and an hps bulb, assuming you have the reflector already. that should be cheaper

or you could try get a ballast that does mh and hps, i got one off ebay, not acutally tried it with mh though

Well i have a mh setup for veg but its getting close to send them to flowering. I want to have a mother so switching between the two is out. Plus Im kinda worried about running both mh and hps at the same time. A lot of heat for a one room split.

oh, have you read up on conversion bulbs, are they just as good spectrum and lumens and all that? they probably are but maybe something to think about. otherwise guess its just up to you, like what you could use in the future. another thing is if they are that expensive you don't want to be replacing that all the time when you can get normal ones cheaper. not actually sure how often your supposed to change i've heard 3 grows but my grow shop guy says he changes every grow, maybe because he gets them cheap though
