I found this
http://www.supermemo.com/articles/20rules.htm, going to read through it.
THE POINT IS... I am a learning biologist. I have begun to take one of the hardest classes ive ever taken "Cell Biology" It has nothing to do with memorization, but concepts. I figured, that If I could remember everything I read, that putting these concepts together would be a breeze. I have been able to breeze through classes such as genetics, evolution, plant eco, biology of seed plants... several more, but they only required me to memorize what the teachers want... Now I have this teacher from fucking bumfuck iran or something (no offense) and he just randomly pulls shit out of a middle of a 200page reading supplement... Its killing me.. Literally! I studied close to 36 hours for the last exam and made a 51! WTF!!!
Heres what I have tried..
Rereading my txt over and over- --- my GOD DOES THIS GET BORING! I love the material, but the textbook is so BLAND!
Rewriting my notes ---- helps a bit but not much
Summarizing - same as above
So far the BEST approach has been for me to draw process over and over, such as the Na+/K+ pump channel, simply it regulates the concentrations of NA and K in your cells, along with glucose and other large molecules. BUT this take SO MUCH TIME and there is SO MUCH MORE! I UNDERSTAND there is BRIGHT individuals out there, who can simply read once and move on... THATS NOT ME.. I need help with Technique and my teacher-student relationship is not helping...
