How To Raise or lower Ph in water ??

Hi and Welcome

I was wondering how i could raise or lower the ph of my water, only using ingredients around the house ???

Like would adding vinegar to the water lower Ph ???

and also if my soil was to alkaline (7.2 Ph) and i watered my plants with 6.2 Ph water would the ph in my soil lower over time ????

Most water and soils are at best a neutral 7 or more alkaline so almost without exception you will want to push your pH down. You can use a little lemon juice to do that. I'm quite sure vinegar would as well because it is acetic acid. You can add aluminum sulfate or sulfur to your soil to lower the pH.

Not sure about baking soda - this will produce sodium salts when it reacts with acids - like common salt, too much is not good. pH + from a grow shop is based on potassium compounds, not sodium, for this reason.

You could be right, but I know it's quite common to use it as pH up.

You can use baking soda in an emergency situation only. I used it to fix my ph problem but I bought some ph up for the permanent solution. To lower ph I use lemon juice.

Apple cider vinegar will lower your ph and plants just love it. B vitamins, amino acids and iron are just a few of the benefits of using vinegar.
