How to promote streching

Getting next run ready. I switched my veg lights from led n t5 to hps. I have zero streching atm meaning no side branching at the bottom. Especially when compared to before. So i cannot begin flower until i take clones to maintain my cycle. So what can i do to allow bottoms to strech? Raise lights? Top plants? Go back to t5? I got about 15 days before i take cuts and pot up. After that wait week then go to 12/12. Any ideas let me know. Thanks

Raise your lights will cause more stretch but if you're looking to get a good amount of clones, topping will be good also. Redistributing the hormones with topping should get you accelerated side growth. I would do both

I'll add.... save the hps for flowering. Use it after using your normal setup that was previously working for you.

So hps allows more strech compared to t5? I use to run mh and plants were very short n stocky, my nodes had nodes. But they run so hot.

stretch doesn't equate to structure in the sense of side branching
blue light will throw more sides and more foliage.

a weaker light, throws less lumens and breaks down or dissipates faster. the sun fpr example is pretty much the same strength where you are now and 30ft up.. which is idk 110k lux or 7k lumens
the plant notices the increase in light as it grows and will stretch into it

Also my t5s are fixed about 24-30" off ground. The weight of my fixture makes it hard to adjust them in a tent, its time to pitch the tents and just build a real wall... my veg is too small for my flower imo.
