I got them long fly traps hanging like 4 of them 6 sticky cards 1each plant. Also got h202. I just did the cards today. The fly traps been hang for about a week an iv cought a few lil ones the big one burnd in my light. I got like a day or two for my soil to be completly dry. What are my chances of getting rid of themYellow sticky traps at soil level and a few above lights and around the tent/roomfor flying adults . . .
Gnatnix for the soil to kill larvae . . .burns http://www.growstone.com/fungus-gnat-control/
THEN amount you are watering. For the next few waterings, bottom feed to leave an inch or two dry on top. Perhaps cut down on the amount of nutrient, the gnats are attracted to high levels of fungal matter in the soil . . . .

How good is the earth stuff cuz i got on top of everything elts i said i went an got the growstone sand an i have no prob with thaf after i coverd the soil most of them got stuck to the traps... but i notic a couple hanging around my drain ports.I just got rid of my gnat probelm completely, so if you do this right you shouldnt have gnats anymore for a while.
Stuff you will need - Sand ( Homedepot 6$ a bag ) & Diatomaceous Earth ( Food grade/OMRI Homedepot has it for like 5$ too.)
1) Wait for your soil to be dry, dont be afraid to over do it either.
2) Remove the top soil of your pots and replace it with new soil. Sprinkle a layer of Diatomaceous Earth around your plant and under your pot. Gnats like to hang around the bottom of your pot too. This will kill the larvae.
3) Cover the soil with sand, make sure it's good quality sand. Cover everything well, this will prevent gnats from reproducing. Make sure you cover your soil AGAIN with sand after you water your plants, just until you get rid of them.
Honeslty that should be enough for you to see a difference in 2-3 days. I like to spray my plants every 2 weeks with neem oil/protekt, seems to help out a bit as well. Traps do catch a few but they dont get rid of them completely, you need to mess with their life cycle in order to get rid of them for sure. Goodluck bro stay lifted
You can put out a few small dishes or cups of soapy water. That will catch some of the adults. Mosquito dunks might work as well. But I think the best control is to let the soil dry out.I am having a prob with gnats any help plz.
It works for sure, you can also dust your plants with it to kill other pests as well. My outdoor plants are covered with diatomaceous earth and nothing goes near them! make sure you sprinkle some DE around the drainage holes cause they have access to soil and roots there too. keep your waterings to a minimum from now on till you see no more gnats. when you dust your plants with DE make sure you dont water for at least 3-4 days. once you dust a layer on top of your soil, cover it with sand. you will see gnats on top of the sand, they're trying to figure out how to get back in the soil but they can't.How good is the earth stuff cuz i got on top of everything elts i said i went an got the growstone sand an i have no prob with thaf after i coverd the soil most of them got stuck to the traps... but i notic a couple hanging around my drain ports.
