how to fix this

it seems like for the past 5 days or so my plant which is about 3 weeks old has been dying, all of the bottom leaves are turning yellow, the bottom 2 are shriveling up sort of and the biggest ones at the bottom are turning very yellow and 1 actually has a very small hole in it

check pics -

1st pic shows very blurry the leaves at the bottom shrivelling up
2nd shows the bottom leaves turning yellow
3rd pic is the little veg room i setup, yeah i don't have any white paint so i used tinfoil - sorry. it has 2x 42w(150w) cfls 1 warm 1 cool about 3" away from the plant.

the stem is pinkish red so i know that ive overwatered it. This is also about 3 weeks in so im going to move it to a bigger pot (~2Litres) with 9-16-9 fert.

I got confused when reading about watering and I thought I had to water it 3 times a day, but then figured out thats hydroponics. How often would you recommend I water it if its in a 2L pot with soil?

Unfortunately I cannot currently afford any nutrients, i wish i could cuz it sucks to watch this thing start dying, it started off real nice and green up until about 5 days ago, so i'm using mineral carbonated water..carbonated for co2. and the temp is usually like 87'F.

Any ideas on what i could do? or is the lack of nutrients the problem for this

would it be stupid of me to ask if i should cut the dying leaves off?

1. Go to your local nursery and buy a moisture meter. They cost under ten dollars. From then on, only water when indicated by the meter.

2. Are you sure you can't afford nutrients? You really don't have to buy the expensive stuff.

Hey Man....I think the lights are too close for this seedling...and you are watering WAY to often....if you are in the states...go to OSH or Home Depot and get some Mircle Grow fertz....very cheap....under $5 and it will work wonders.
Use just a half teaspoon in a gallon of water, and water it once a day with it. You do not want it sitting in water.
Move your thermometer up to the level of the leaves and see how hot it is....should not be over 85 degrees.....
Great potential there....another option is when you transplant it, use SuperSoil or some other soil that has fertilizer in it...then you dont have to feed the plant for 3 months! Just plain water every other day....

your cooking it .. foil creates hot spots , and your lights are too close .. back off some and lose the foil.. give it some water for a few days .. good luck

Losing the foil and allowing it to dry out between waterings will do it wonders. Marijuana likes dry feet.

What type of soil are you using? It looks to young to be worried about ferts.

thats about 3 weeks, i think i kept it in a small pot for too long

im gonna restart, germinate 2 seeds, i know it's not alot but like i said i cant afford anything like that right now i got fucked out of my job so i started this as a hobby.

So I'm gonna germinate 2, put them in a 1L pot (bigger than the 1 in the pic)with regular soil from my moms garden, lol, for about 3 weeks, then take it all, with the soil and all and put it in a 2L pot with 10-15-10 fert. Then I only need to water it for 3 weeks? After the 3 weeks I'm guessing all the nutes in the fert run out, so will I have to change fertilizer or would I then start adding nutrients to the water?

Make sure and bake your dirt in the oven to kill any pests before using it. While in veg, I would get some Alaskan Fish Emulsion at your local Walmart. It costs about $6.00 and will be a good start for your plants until you can find proper flower nutes. Good luck.

do u mean when the roots have reached the bottom of the pot?? or is there another reason for transplanting?

i might be wrong, but ive been reading and from what i gather if you keep your growing plant in a small pot for too long, the roots wont have enough space to grow and they will get all cramped up and itll mess up ur plant, so i guess what i'll do is wait until it's good to give it nutes, which is about ~3 weeks from seed from what i've been reading, then ill transplant the plant with the regular soil into a bigger pot, that has a bunch of 10-15-10 fert and then cover up all the soil with fert.

Maybe i'm wrong

Also, does anyone know any fertilizer that doesnt smell? I was going to use a 9-16-9 fertilizer but it smelled so bad

you want to start off really slowly with the nutes. don't put it directly in the soil. start at 1/4 recommended amount, disolved in water. fertilize every third watering. as for smell, you probably have an organic fertilizer that smells like manure. you can buy inorganic nutes but they can leave a bad taste in your bud if you don;t flush well
