How tall before flower in scrog

I am currently on my second scrog grow. My first turned out pretty good even though it was bagseed. My problem is I run DWC in 5 gal buckets and they are 18 inches from the top of the res to the screen. I figured this way the plants wouldn't grow to far above the screen after I re-positioned her. Well that shit ain't happening. I am at day 15 of flowering my jock horror fems and they are each 8,10 and 12 inches above the screen. So just for the sake of asking any of you scroggers out there how tall do you grow your plants before putting them into the screen and how high above the screen do you finish at. I am thinking of making them 24 inches on the next run.

I threw mine under a screen at 8 inches.

The screen can be anywhere from 8-18" above the buckets. When the tops start growing above the screen, just tuck them back under. You should have a full, flat canopy before you start flowering.

How many inches from screen to light??? Can you provide pics?

yeah ill drop some pics in tonite after i finish my maintenance. i have quite a bit of room between the ceiling and the plants so im not as concerned about the height, i think it is just in the way i have been doing it. they go into the screens when they flower so as they stretch they can be adjusted. i think on the next run i will let them grow at least 50% into the screen and let them stretch from there. when i do it the way i have been doing you will see by the pics that the ones that werent topped, the main cola grew faster and the one that was topped branched out more and grew well into the screen.
