hey i live in new jersey so the climate here is pretty good. but if i put 4 plants outdoors could i just water them twice a week? because they would be in the woods in a town kinda far from me where my mom lives. so i gotta basically water them whenever i go visit my mom. also how much water should each plant get? cuz my plan was to fill a backpack up with 2 liter soda bottles of tap water and use that to water my plants.

btw if anyone has any good websites on how to make hashish bricks thatll be cool. thanks.

in the ground with some form of mulch over them you can expect to water twice a week during dry season. or more if your plants show any signs of wilting. a large plant will take multiple gallons by itself 2-3 for a decent sized plant come end august.
the easiest way to make hash with your ganja/trim nowdays is cold water extraction especially if you are not making a whole lot. look up bubble bags for some info. you will need the bags, good trim/buds , ice, a paint mixer/clean or some form of food mixer, fresh water, 5 gallon buckets. stir it separate the material from the tricomes- the bags do it for you and then press your material. it's more involved than that but you get the idea. i have been doing it for 12 years or more and it works well.
before you get ahead of yourself focus on getting a harvest. read lots and ask lots of questions many will give dumb remarks here but many more will be helpfull and share thier knowlege with you. good luck.

lake or river water might work, then you just need a container try to find a water source nearby or you'll be hauling water like a soldier. 5 gallons=40 lbs hash making is on www.growhd.com

IMHO
you should be able to "dry farm" [no extra water required] them, once they get established... unless you have an unusual dry spell.

extra watering along with some liquis ferts makes a big differance where i live. when you don't get rain in ten days and it is hot watering them will make them grow double. easily.

Virginia is about the same wheater as in quebec canada, even a little hotter.. did you do specific stuff to be able to only have to go water them evrey 2 weeks?

let your tap water sit in buckets for at least a day before you use it to water. tap water contains things that need to evaporate out before given to cannabis plants. this will help your microbe colony too.

This is a good topic I think a lot of guys get in over their heads sometimes with the whole watering situation. If you don't have a nearby source of water and you plan on lugging water from home in a backpack I wouldn't plant more than a few plants. The local weather makes a huge difference, but expect to water at least once a week during extremely warm weather when there is no rain. Like someone else mentioned, they can survive longer but they won't exactly thrive. A nice thick layer of mulch can go a long way too. I have this stuff called Soil Moist I plan on trying out this year. Water is definitely my limiting factor. Last year wasn't all that bad compared to the year before. In 2010 there was a point where it didn't rain for almost a month and was in the high 80's. At that point, you are going to have to be hauling water at least once a week.
