i have 1000 w light i want to know how much it will jump my electric bill monthly
On U.S. power at about 10 cents per kilowatt hour (max, you may be less), you'll pay a dime per hour for this light. So running an 18/6 cycle for 30 days would be 540 hours a month, or $54/month. Just multiply your kilowatt/hr rate by the number of hours per month you run it since you have a 1 kilowatt light.

My guess is that $54 amount is probably pretty close. I use 2 x 400 watts (MH + HPS) and it costs me about $40 a month - actually that includes a small and medium sized fans.

not much at all... think of this, a common micro wave uses 1200 watts, a toaster 800 watts, and a washing machine 1800watts, and other, so ur energy may be simply as "a new toaster you got"

the reason im worried is because i rent a 1bedroom above a 4 car garage in california and my electric bill is paid by the lanlord that lives in the main unit.although the garage is not attached, dont want him to find out and give me the boot before i harvest

Is this gonna be a small grow? a 1000 watt light is great but if it is going to be a stealth grow and be on the small side why not use a smaller light? and a 1000 watt puts out alot of heat unless it's a cool tube, I personaly grow with one 1000 watt and two 400 watt and my grow space is 8ft x 9ft x 6ft in height so I to have a bit of over kill but as they say watts=weight but I was thinking of your situation and trying to keep it on the low down and also a 1000 watter can be seen from a mile away if you have any light leaks, good luck bro...
