How much light??

Evening guys.......got a few questions for you and could do with a little advice

I'm thinking of doing a grow using 2xwilma 8 pot systems, when they're placed side by side the area measures around 1 metre square, would using 1 600W HID light be enough for 16 plants?? or will I need more light??

Also, my last grow didn't yeild too much, do you guys prune some of the bigger fan leaves to allow more light to the lower buds??

you are gonna grow 16 plants in one square metre? I doubt it, but one 600w will cover that space perfectly.

Prune off all the fan leaves that on the main stalk and under a branch. You know the ones. Once they are gone the plant will not waste energy replacing them.

sorry, got my measurements wrong, the longest side of the system is just over a metre long, so whatever that is in square metres, never was to good at maths.....

I'll be using two of these side by side, do you think I'll have enough light or would you get flouresents round the side aswell?

Neat set up. You are going to need a vertical bulb and reflector set up. Keep your plants small.

i have read places that you are gonna wanna clip or fry the upper leaves in order to reach the bottom. most say dont be worried about toasting upper leaves.
