how much is to much electricity ?

I'm thinking a lot, especially in the winter. Realistically, the guy at the electrical company is not going to call the police because you are paying them more money. If you're stealing the power, then you're toast. Especially in the winter with heaters and christmas lights running, a spike in consumption would not automatically indicate a grow operation and the power company would not know when YOUR usage goes up (more power on an exact 18/6 schedule) unless they were staring at your meter. The only thing would be if the police already suspected you, they could use utility company information against you to obtain a warrant.

You should be fine unless your way out there on the lights. I run a 1000w and a 400w year round. 1200 sqft home cost me 300.00 a month and electric is high here.

cleef great info thanks and thanks to everyone who posts... Anyone else want to throw in there two cents? whats the most lights any of u have had running and not run into any problems ? im just curious as to know how many lights some ppl on here are running without getting caught thanks again all time to roll a fatty

ive got a buddy that runs 2 rooms at around 5000w each....plus the rest of his house power and has never had a problem...just pay your bill on time.....

just had this argument with my brother today. I got some cfls.. well like 16 of em and the bill went up like $75 this month. There is no way the DEA is gonna show up with a swat team and ram my door down because of that. But after doing the math it makes more sense to replace the cfls with a 75 or 100 mh, more perfomance with less wattage.. also next profits will be going twords solar panals in the spring. Not only can i run way more lights with it, but the government will give ya a tax insentive to do it lol.
