I heard about this island in Ireland that didn’t have any soil on it so they started saving the kelp that washed up onshore and composted it until they could plant stuff

If you are paying that much for FFOF I would just buy some better soil directly from BuildASoil. I just checked,, and they dont ship directly to the Caribbean, but I use a mail forwarding service to send my friends in Jamaica stuff all the time. I just send to a Fort Lauderdale address and it gets forwarded on. I know they have to pay something on top when they get the packages, but you might as well get some super high grade living organic soil for that price. That way you can be able to run it a few times and just reammend. FFOF has nothing left halfway thru the grow let alone be able to run it multiple times.

They also have some other LOS with olly mountain fish compost etc. I just bought 9 bags of the Light Soil bc I wanted to try out veganic growing to see if I can make it work for my needs. Amazing stuff so far and came highly recommended by a friend who has been growing for 30 yrs and just switched to their products.

I would dig up soil from a forest floor before I paid that much for ocean forest. You can easily make your own mix using local material.
