How much did your set up cost

I AM CURRENTLY GETTING SUPPLIES FOR A GROW ROOM AND WAS WONDERING HOW MUCH YOUS HAVE SPENT CUSTOMISING YOUR ROOM INTO A GROW ROOM.

I AM ONLY A SMALL TIME GROWER (1 OR 2 PLANTS AT A TIME )AND DO NOT WANT TO SPEND LOTS OF MONEY ON SOMETHIN IM ONLY GONNA GET 2 OUNCE FROM EACH TIME.

SO WHAT IS YUOR SETUP AND HOW MUCH DID IT COST YOU.

How much you looking to spend? You can spend anywhere from $100 to a few thousand to get started.

I would check out a local construction electrial store (where they sell electrical equipment

to construction guys for sites and shit. You might be able to find a really kick ass MH set up (used to light construction sites at night) for around $140 (if you can find the right one they're sic!). and then just go to Home Depot and by yourself a socket and then just connnect the wires (green/green/ground, etc). not hard at all, have the HD guy show you how to do it. fuck, bring the damn light in and have him show you right there, why won't know what you're using it for.

get yourself a converstion bulb at the hydro shop when you get to flowering. and you're set. a little fan to keep everything moving.

how much space do you have? having a spare bedroom obviously allows for different things.

i wanted a cab for "2-4 plants" and hile you'd think you could buy a pot, soil and a light, it adds up.

my simple cab, is nothing but cowboy work on the whole, but it still set me back close to £500, and if i had the money now, i'd be out spending a further £200, everytime i open the door i sit in front of my plants on the floor, and there are so many things i think of that i'd like to do to improve it. having a hydroponic catalogue on the couch really isn't helping my self control

ill have around 15,000 total in my setup when its all finished.. that includes everything from electrical ive ran to the dividing wall ive built to equipment and seeds... right now i have around 10 or so put into it.. and waiting until this next harvest to finish things out...

I'm thinking the "2 onces per plant" aspect is going to bring up from the econno level.

Sugestion: Have a mother/veg room. With only 1 or 2 plants, you should use clones, so you know its a female. I'd hate to plant seeds every time and cross my fingers.

Tough to say what its gonna cost ya, not really knowing anything. But a closet conversion sounds on par.
lighting: 250 - 400W HPS

But I'd say for a respectable system $500 to start.

i have maybe just a bit over 5k invested. but that got me 2 custom framed rooms.. and 4 lamps.. 4 inline fans.. portable a/c.. quality nutes, and meters.. timers..all the junk.

yea i agree on around 500 $ just to get started with a de-cent set up. i also agree on a 250 or 400watt set up. if you wanna use cfl's or shop lights just read the forums and use common sence, there are plenty of folks on here that will help u out too! Hps and Mh get very hot so make sure you get fans and venting. if you use shop lights or cfl's the heat aint so bad at all. GOOD LUCK!

You get what you pay for.

If you want to grow bagseed popcorn it can be done for $100

If you're looking to grow a couple oz of ok bud every 2 - 4 months; you could go with bag seed, cheapo bulbs, a ballast kit, and use off the shelf fertilizer, you're lucky enough to have a cool area with good ventilation, and nobody is there to smell the grow, you could probably get the job done under $350 - $500

But if you want to produce quality nugs using superior genetics, and you have to run ventilation and cool your grow with A/C you could easily spend $1500 - $2000.

many times ! walmart is good for root hormone , measureing spoons, and somtimes neem oil........

i spent about $250 so far. small box with 20x 1600lumen cfl's 23watts each. 2 fans & misc. supplies. pics soon as i get a chance. plants are doing very well, 2 weeks into 18/6 veg. 2clones and 2seedlings. my wife made me start with 12 cfl's to judge elec bill, needless to say i am turning on the other 8 cfl's today, my bill went down $30! final setup will be 6 plants.

cfl is the wayto go for a cheap setup, just get few bulbs per plant and you'll be good to go and construct a box (lowes my box was $70 including electrical shit for my 4 sockets, the 4 sockets themselves, 4 plugs, electrical tape, and the box is 3 ft high but 2.5x2.5 base with a shelve so i can raise and lower the plants as thay grow)

Bro look... if you are only growing 1 or 2 plants that is nothing. buy a tent, a 250 watt hps, some ventilation- fan, and some high quality seeds and go hydro plus nutes. $500 would be max if that. Why would you put anything more than that into 2 plants. if you wanted to go cheap $100 bucks would do.
