How much dark is needed for the "sleeping" period of the day.

I've read that even a little light (a small leak inside your tent or a light from e.g display of some electronic device) can cause that your plants will not start flowering. Supposedly if you can see your hand in front of your face, there isn't enough dark. Is it really so? I struggle to believe it because if you grow outdoor, there is light from the moon, stars, maybe street lightening and so on.

What if I need to do some changes, watering or other maintenance inside my grow tent? If I open it for 5 mins, will my plants go crazy and become hermaphrodites?

Yes it is so.
A full moon light is about the limit.
If you can see your hand in front of your face it is nowhere near dark enough.
You need to get all your jobs done before dark time I'm afraid; our ladies need their beauty sleep

I've not had issues by doing that re 5 min of light but I try not to do it very often, as for light leaks it's probably way better not to have any but I have some pretty big ones right now, also 2 displays for temp controllers and they are happy, happy lol.
