How may 3000k bulbs to use?

Hi. My girls (hopefully) are getting close to being put into flowering.

I have a 6 light flourescent fixture which currently has 6 - 6500k bulbs. I am going to change bulbs to 3000k for the flowering stage. How many bulbs do I change to the 3000k, all of them, half of them or what?

If you are using only the lights in that fixture i would change 4 of them, maybe 5 depending on how "blue" it looked with the 4 going. you want the light to be very red/ orange, but still have just enough blue to keep the light spectrum balanced. I would also be using the reverse ratio during veg: 4 or 5 6500K and 1 or 2 3000K. additionally, I recomend supplement with extra UV-B for flowering stage. this will increase your plant's essential oil production.

I would switch them all to 3000k.

Is switch half of the over head lights, and add more bloom spectrum side lights.

I would switch 4 over leave 2 6500k and like jealousgreen said add 3,4 high watt 2700k cfl lights . U can leave your flo set up on top of your girls then wrap the cfl's around and you should be ok. How many plants? What size area are you working with ? Need at least 50watts per plant or 2,000 lumes per square ftthats min. So the more the better. That's the set up I would run if I where you. So re these added CFL bulbs, are we speaking of something like this - http://www.horticulturesource.com/ge-lighting-ge-compact-fluorescent-45-w-2700k-p4463/?osCsid=781dbbbe3d554da05ef3ec12759f5709 which is a GE Compact Spiral Fluourescent 45 watt/2700k? This one is considerably less $ than the $50 CFL bulbs, hopefully it is OK.

In looking at the GE bulbs mentioned directly above, I don't see any kind of fixture for them, do I just rig them up so they hang next to the plants, maybe with a little tin foil on the side NOT next to the plants?

To answer the questions:
There are 6 plants which are (at least at the moment) 99% covered by the 48" fluouro fixture, they are about 5 weeks old (WW & Blackjack). The girls are in 5 gallon pails all directly under the lights, that area is about 4' x 2.5'.. The room itself (the plants only take up part of this space) is about 3' L x 9' W x 9' H. At least if I did my math right it currently has enough lumens although I do realize the more the merrier. Budgetary constraints...........

Those lights will work for what you want I belive I'm not big into cfl. I run hps there is a whole thread on cfl lights on this forum all you want to know is there. If I was doing 6 plants and wanted to use cfl I would use 1 of those lights per plant and your flo set up and you would get a good crop. That's 70 dollars shipped if u go to your local home depot of lowes you might do better. I have 4 plants and running 500 total watts and about 56,000 lumes and I want more lol. It is addictive anyway check out that thread for the cfl and go through the posts you will find all your answers I promise. Good luck
