How many watts? (HPS)

I am looking to order a HPS light system for flowering when its time. I have 5 plants. How many watts would I need for 5 plants? I have been looking on eBay theres 150w, 400w, 600w, 1000w...

as much as you can get...i usually work by lumen per square foot

how big is your room? how hot does it get?
1000watters are preferd because of the same cost for a better bulb.
but since you have 5 plants get the 400 or 600

...the 600 watt HPS is the most efficient bulb (watt per lumens ratio)

so 600w and 1000w is better and more efficient then the 400w?

the 600 is most efficient; remember that the 600 and 100 will both use more electricity than a 400. With 5 plants a 600 would be a good choice. However, if you have a well ventilated area with cooltube etc, go for the 1000w

...if you do some research, you'll see that the 600 watt HPS gives you more lumens per watt than ALL the other bulbs.

Well im defiantly not going with the 1000w its too much and i don't need it. I'm debating between the 400watts and 600watts. The prices between both is not that big of a difference, so money its not the problem. Should I go with the 400watts? and save money and since I'm also only doing 5 plants?
Or the 600....?

what's the dimensions of your box? What's your ventilation? If you have a good fan and cooltube, get the 600. It penetrates the lower foliage much better than the 400.

What bout the the color of the bulbs? shouldn't I get 2700K for flowering?

600 watt HPS hortilux EYE, imo. (if your using a magnetic ballest)
